From Saskatoon to Winnipeg with love is a hip hop match made in heaven. The two sister scenes have been connected from the infancy of the the modern Saskatoon scene birthed in the mid 90’s. Winnipeg was always Saskatoons big brother in those days. Always a few steps ahead in the rap game. What Saskatoon lacked in experience and polish it made up for in exuberance, excitement and perseverance.
This record is a product of those early rap days. Relationships forged over a passion for rap music that have been going on over 20 years. The birth of the collective known as Saskatoon Folk Rap Records is a testament to these lasting relationships.
This limited 10” features some classic prairie rap songs appearing on vinyl for the first time. We hope you enjoy these songs as much as we did. Music for the advancement of Prairie Hip Hop.
