about

Rare songs from a time when some of the finest in underground hiphop was being made.

About Side A:
Epic is a legendary blue-collared, grey-haired, Saskatoon-to-Edmonton MC. He is both loved and hated for his 100% true to self style. Breaking all hip hop stereotypes, Epic toured around the world in the early 2000's building his cult following and reputation as one of the realest MCs on the planet. 'Long Weekend' appeared on Epic's Old Gifted and White album which was a lesser known/ rare release from Clothes Horse Records circa 2002. 'Music Appreciation II' first appeared on Epic's 2008 release, 'Aging is What Friends Do Together' which was released on Hand'Solo Records and is still available on CD here: handsolorecords.bandcamp.com/album/aging-is-what-friends-do-together

About Side B:
The Jerk Circuit was a turn of the century rap group based in central Florida, consisting of artists Bleubird, Filkoe176, Sign One and DJ Spytek. Jerk Circuit helped to pioneer a regressive sound based on sampling records, field recordings and live instrumentation. 'Sunday' is from their one and only release, OHEMANRAP which was recorded in 2000-2001 and has since been re-released on cassette by Endemik Records (endemikmusic.com) and Illuminated Paths: illuminatedpaths.bandcamp.com/album/ohemanrap
